* The grassroots groups at either side of an issue have legitimate concerns that often get ignored and sometimes exploited by the elites representing them on both side of the issue, even in democratic societies.  While that may not create a moral equivalency between the elites acting in democratic societies and their autocratic counterparts, it does underscore the need for constant vigilance by all.

* Nihilistic anti-establishmentarianism, the kind that makes you shoot yourself in the foot and rejoice in the act, does a great service to the very Establishment being opposed. On the other hand, getting the Establishment to play by its own professed rules and live up to its own professed principles is probably the biggest anti-establishmentarian transformation we could ever impose on the Establishment.

Of Might & Right

* Neither bravery nor wisdom is sufficient to make the world a better place. The role of organization and planning is much more critical.

The Point

* No snake ever became a butterfly after shedding its skin.

* The point is to condemn and oppose oppression, murder, ethnic cleansing, rape, imperialism and all violations of basic human rights, and to do so consistently and insistently, now and forever, in our homeland and everywhere, not just when they are being specifically perpetrated against us, or by those we don’t particularly like.
